Kristina Spear
A little bit about me: I began my journey in Social Work by earning a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland in 2017, followed by a Master of Social Work degree from Florida State University in 2022. I obtained my licensure of a Licensed Master Social Worker in 2024 and am currently working towards additional licensure. My career in Social Work commenced in 2019, where I focused on advocacy, supporting incarcerated individuals and victims of crime. I then transitioned to working with individuals experiencing mental health crises and youth in the foster care system.
In 2023, I expanded my focus to the therapy field where I practice currently.
I firmly believe that everyone, regardless of their background or circumstances, deserves the opportunity to be their authentic selves—free from judgment or limitations. My ideal world is one where suffering does not exist at any level, and where we all coexist harmoniously. I believe that each person has the right to live a meaningful and fulfilling life, according to their own definition of happiness. In therapy, my goal is to get to know you personally, at a pace that feels comfortable to you, and to work collaboratively with you. Together, we will empower you to understand who you are, where you have come from, and where you want to go on this journey called life. I employ various therapeutic approaches, tailored to your current state, your comfort level, and your openness to trying new things and learning.
I pride myself on ensuring that our work together is trustworthy, honest, safe, understanding, empathetic, open-minded, and collaborative. I believe that we all possess the inner strength to live our best lives, whatever that may look like for each of us. However, life can often take unexpected turns, and that’s where therapy can be a valuable support. Now that you know a bit about me, I look forward to the opportunity to get to know you and assist you in moving forward to where you want to be.
“This is the real secret of life--to be completely engaged with what you are doing in the here and now.” -Alan Watts
