Jocelyn Scott

It’s very easy to feel alone when you live with anxiety and depression in your everyday life. I take an approach of empathy, understanding, and acceptance while providing you with clinical tips and resources for managing behavior that is no longer working well for you.

I bring with me a sincere desire to help others heal and believe therapy should be tailored to your specific culture, background, and needs. I offer individual therapy using a blended approach of Cognitive Behavioral, Person-Centered, and Solution Focused techniques. I work earnestly to provide a supportive, safe and relaxed atmosphere.

I believe in the incorporation of Holistic care that involves treating you as a “whole” person instead of focusing on an illness or diagnosis. Through Holistic practice, I consider the physiological, psychological, cultural, and spiritual aspects of a person in order to administer appropriate, patient-centered treatment.

I received my master’s in clinical mental health counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University, where I gained experience working with symptoms of anxiety and depression. I believe in meeting the client where they are, knowing there is always hope and the possibility of change.

Often, simply talking about your thoughts and feelings with a supportive person can make you feel better. I want to help you live your strongest life and be your truest self. Wherever you are on your journey, I want to collaborate with you and help you be the best person you can be.

"Just like moons and like suns with the certainty of tides, just like hopes springing high, still, I’ll rise." - Maya Angelou
